Pure nostalgia: the original theatrical release

It”s the moment the world has been waiting for (or at least those that are old enough not to have bought VHS tapes*). The original theatrical release of Star Wars is to be presented on DVD. (And the other two ”Classic Trilogy” as well – but who really cares about that).See a total lack of Jabba the Hut, see no ”Episode IV” on the famous ”crawl” introduction, see Han Shoot First, marvel at the tiny technical faults that make George Lucas so upset.But let us not mock. The original of this film is a treasure from many of our childhoods and also of cinema itself. The good news is that each of the ”Classic Trilogy” will be released in seperately, so you only have to bother buying ”Star Wars”. Episode IV is dead – Long Live Star Wars! Coming to a shop near you September 2006…* Note: the almost exact original release was available on VHS with THX sound. A new generation of Minidisc

Coming soon – actually sometime in May 2006 – the new generation of Sony Minidisc Hi-MD. Some people will tell you that the Minidisc format is dead, killed by the ipod craze. Some people are wrong! The Minidisc has a lot to offer beyond MP3”s fairly poor quality portable music and the ipod”s stupidly high fashion profile. Which anyway is bound to end soon with a mighty crash – won”t it?The minidisc format offers something to anyone serious about music from purists (who don”t like compression) through to the grungiest professionals (who don”t care about compression but know that the recording format is great). I can tell you it”s true because Radio Quality is completely made on Minidisc and always has been since 1997.So don”t dismiss the format.
